August 15, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jahun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

According to this information, during a telephone conversation, the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed.
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan noted that the activation of the Armenia of military-political provocations against Azerbaijan, contrary to the norms and principles of international law, inflicted a serious blow to the existing process of normalization between two countries.
Armenia, which continues to manipulate the allegedly “stressful humanitarian situation” in the region, the existence of “blockade”, instead of following the agreements reached to resolve issues related to the use of the Lachinsky road and other alternative ways to meet the needs of the Armenian residents, prevents the peaceful one process.
Sergey Lavrov noted the importance of commitment to obligations established by a tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia.
During a telephone conversation, an exchange of views also took place on other issues representing mutual interest.
