May 15, 2024, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jahun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Aleinik, who is on a visit to Baku.
The meeting one on one minister Jahun Bayramov and Minister Sergei Aleinik was later continued with the participation of delegations of both parties.
The meeting discussed issues arising from the existing relations of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Belarus, the preparation of the planned state visit of the President of Belarus to Azerbaijan, as well as regional issues.
The parties noted that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries of the country, they cooperate in economic, trade, processing, agriculture, transport, tourism, pharmaceuticals, high technologies, and the humanitarian sphere. In particular, it is emphasized that an important role in expanding cooperation in the economic sphere is played by a joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, the next meeting of which will be held in the near future.
Speaking about the exceptional role of intensive contacts between the leaders of the two countries in the development of the current political dialogue, Minister Jahun Bayramov said that the state visit of the President of Belarus to Azerbaijan, as well as the signing of documents to various areas within this visit are important.
The ministers stated that the existing bilateral relations of the nature of strategic partnership successfully continue within the framework of regional and international multilateral platforms, including the UN, OSCE and the CIS.
Jayhun Bayramov informed a colleague in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, large-scale recovery and construction work, carried out in the territories liberated from the occupation, and the possibilities of cooperation in this direction.
Speaking about our presidency at the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Changing (COP29), the negotiation process and the organizational measures adopted within its framework, Minister Jahun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches important support and the active participation of our partners During his chairmanship.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on other issues representing mutual interest was also held.
