Foreign Minister Of Azerbaijan And Ukraine Discussed Two -way Cooperation Issues

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov in the fields of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly met with the US Foreign Minister Andrei Sibigiga in New York.

According to the press service of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed the issues of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy, humanitarian and other areas, as well as regional issues. Bayramov congratulated Sibiga on the appointment of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The parties noted the importance of maintaining territorial integrity and sovereignty within the framework of the international recognized boundaries of both countries. Humanitarian cooperation of Azerbaijan with Ukraine was highly appreciated, including support in restoration and reconstruction.

The parties appreciated the existing political dialogue between the two countries as one of the key factors that contribute to the development of bilateral political and diplomatic relations.

The meeting also discussed new opportunities for cooperation as part of the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Frame Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Bayramov also informed the interlocutor about the progress of restoration work in the territories liberated from the occupation, as well as the current state of the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on other issues representing mutual interest in a bilateral and regional context.
