Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov and Secretary of State of the Foreign Ministry of Slovenia Marco Stutzin discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, the press service of the department reports.
During the meeting held on February 10, 2025, the parties considered issues of bilateral and multilateral interaction, as well as regional and international security.
Jaykhun Bayramov recalled his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanya Fion as part of the 31st meeting of the Council of the OSCE ministers, emphasizing the importance of such contacts to discuss the prospects of cooperation and the development of dialogue between countries.
Interlocutors noted the need to use existing opportunities for cooperation in the field of energy security, trade, business, transport and communications. Particular attention was paid to the strategic position of Azerbaijan in the Middle Corridor, which contributes to the development of these directions.
The parties also discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of education and humanitarian projects. It was noted that the contribution of Azerbaijanis, especially the legendary Mehti Huseynzade (Mikhailo), in the liberation of Slovenia during the Second World War, serves as the basis for modern connections and proximity between the peoples of the two countries.
Marco Stuzin was informed in detail about the current situation in the region in the post -conflict period, about large -scale recovery work in the liberated territories and laundering efforts. It was emphasized that humanitarian clearance is a new direction for cooperation.
Jayhun Bayramov expressed concern to the continuing territorial claims of Armenia, enshrined in its constitution, as well as its active re -equipment in the spirit of revenge, which poses a threat to the regional world.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on other issues representing mutual interest.
