Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov met on June 3 with the senior adviser to the US State Department for negotiations in the Caucasus Louis Bono.
The press service of the Foreign Ministry said that various aspects of the summons of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the USA, as well as the peace process in the region in the post-conflict period, were discussed at the meeting.
Bayramov noted that the activation of contacts between the officials of the two countries has positively influenced the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations and spoke about the importance of mutual visits in this direction.
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan informed Louis Bono in detail about the current situation in the region in the post -conflict period, negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on normalization and peaceful process, as well as the latest achievements within the peace agenda.
Bayramov said that the recent agreement reached between the delimitation commissions, which includes the return of 4 villages occupied by Armenia, once again confirmed the usefulness of the bilateral negotiation process in terms of making a real contribution to the world in the region and strengthening confidence.
During the conversation, it was also noted that negotiations that took place in the Kazakhstan city of Almaty on May 10-11 in a constructive spirit indicate the effectiveness of a bilateral peaceful process.
Senior Advisor to the US State Department for negotiations in the Caucasus Louis Bono, in turn, emphasized that the processes that have been taking place in the region have been giving hope for success in establishing peace and that the American side is always ready to support the negotiation process.
At the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
