Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov accepted the new representative of the UN food and agricultural organization (FAO) in the country of Muhammad Nasara Hayat, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov was awarded the credentials of the representative of the organization. The Minister wished the representative of success in his activities in the country.
During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and FAO were discussed.
Bayramov spoke about the importance of ensuring food security in the modern international conjuncture and noted that the activities of the FAO in this direction deserves a high grade. Joint projects were noted with satisfaction, implemented with the FAO in the direction of using the potential of the development of the agricultural sector, strengthening food security in Azerbaijan. The prospects of the partnership program between Azerbaijan and FAO were discussed.
Bayramov also informed the opposite side of large-scale recovery and construction works carried out by Azerbaijan in the territories liberated from the occupation, including a mine danger posed by a serious threat to agriculture. Noting that the territories freed from the occupation are re -rebuilt on the basis of the Smart City and Smart Village concepts, the Foreign Minister said that these lands have great agricultural potential. In this regard, the possibilities of cooperation with international partners, including FAO, were noted with the aim of using the existing potential.
Muhammad Nasar Hayat with satisfaction emphasized the presence of a wide agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and FAO and indicated that he would not regret the efforts in the direction of further development of relations in this connection.
The meeting also took an exchange of views on other issues representing mutual interest.
