Official Minsk calls on to Lithuania until it is too late, move away from the edge of the abyss and return to constructive cooperation.
This is stated in an article by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov, published “Sat. Belarus Today.”
“In the interests of the peoples of the two countries, Belarus, despite all meaningless and absolutely unjustified pressure, is still interested in a normal equal dialogue with Lithuanian neighbors,” said the head of the diploma.
In Minsk, there is a clear understanding that, until it is too late, it is necessary to move away from the edge of the abyss and return to constructive cooperation, Ryzhenkov noted. “Moreover, these steps should be taken by the Lithuanian side today, since in many directions both in economics, logistics, and in the field of inter-human contacts, we can simply approach the point of non-return. This story will not forgive us,” the minister continued.
According to Ryzhenkov, Minsk repeatedly brought to the Lithuanian side a willingness to consult with Vilnius to restore normal good -neighborly interaction. “We are ready to resume contacts through border and special services, industry departments, foreign ministries. We can start work through parliamentarians, any authorized Lithuanian delegations,” he said.
In Belarus, they are ready to develop a roadmap to unlock cooperation in certain areas, of course, on the principles of respect for the sovereignty and independence of Belarus and its rights to its own development path in cooperation with partners, Ryzhenkov said.
The Minister called on “ordinary Lithuanians as genuine carriers of the sovereignty of his country to calmly and rationally understand the situation and say their weighty word in protecting civilized communication with their neighbors.” “If, of course, you still have the opportunity to openly express your opinion. This will allow you to level all the negative moments that our peoples, imposed by your politicians with Belarusians,” said the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Two countries could jointly outline ways to resolve issues of normalizing the migration situation on the border, de -escalation of military tension, interaction through the law enforcement agencies, the resumption of transfer of pensions and benefits, recovery, including persons with chronic diseases and children with disabilities, believes Minister.
“In our common interests – the restoration of normal passenger and cargo communication and mobility, the transit of goods, including such important humanitarian positions as food, medicine, fertilizers,” said Maxim Ryzhenkov.
In Minsk, they intend to wait for the Lithuanian side reaction to these proposals and the specific steps of the Lithuanian political elite, based primarily on the interests of their own people, the minister added.
