Foreign Minister Of Brazil And Russian Federation Discussed Bilateral Relations And Visit Of Lula And Silva To Moscow

The Foreign Minister of Brazil Mauro Viyira met with Russian colleague Sergei Lavrov in Rio de Janeiro.

According to sources in the Brazilian diplomatic university, negotiations were held on the fields of meetings of foreign ministers of the BRICS participating countries.

The BRICS group is not trying to resist other blocks or countries, Viira noted. “BRICS does not confront anyone, any block or any country. BRICS advocates the unification of countries and the development of the countries of the so-called global south,” said Brazilian Foreign Minister.

According to local media, Lula da Silva will take part in celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day, which will take place on May 9 in Russia.

In Rio de Janeiro, a meeting of foreign ministers of the BRICS countries, uniting leading developing economies in the world.

The Russian diplomatic mission said that during the conversation the schedule of bilateral contacts was discussed in detail, including certain parameters of the upcoming participation of President Brazil Lula da Silva in celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.

A subject exchange of views on topical issues of cooperation between the two countries in various fields took place. The attitude is emphasized for further strengthening the entire spectrum of Russian-Brazilian ties.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the interaction of Moscow and Brazilia in BRICS, where this year Brazil presents, as well as in the framework of other international sites, in particular the UN and Group twenty. In addition, ministers affected a number of international plots, including the problems of resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
