Foreign Minister Of CSTO Countries Discussed Priority Areas Of Cooperation With UN

, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, a working meeting of foreign ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Collective Security (CSTO), annually held in the fields of the UN General Assembly.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the ministers exchanged views on topical issues of the 79th Session of the UN GA, and also discussed the priority directions of UN cooperation with the CSTO.

Nurtleu informed his colleagues about the position of Kazakhstan on various aspects of the CSTO activity as part of the current chairmanship in the organization and shared a vision of the further development of this regional structure.

“The ministerial meeting was held in a traditionally friendly atmosphere, the parties confirmed the focus on developing further mutually beneficial cooperation of the CSTO with a universal comprehensive organization,” the foreign policy said in a statement of the foreign policy.

In addition, on the fields of the event, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan held bilateral meetings with Russian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov.

During a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Russian cooperation, and also examined the calendar of the upcoming events and “checked the clock” on topical issues of international and regional agenda.
