The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Bilan Bhutto-Zardari discussed with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov the resumption of the “grain transaction”.
According to the press service of the Pakistan Foreign Ministry, during a telephone conversation, Zurdari discussed with Lavrov the consequences of the suspension of the agreement on the Black Sea Grain initiative for the global chain of food supply and food security.
Zardari emphasized the importance of joint efforts to find solutions that will benefit developing countries experiencing economic difficulties.
The Foreign Minister confirmed the support of international efforts to resume the grain transaction and expressed the hope that all parties would conduct a constructive dialogue.
The Russian Foreign Policy Department, in turn, said that Lavrov and Zardari discussed cooperation in the trade, economic and counter-terrorist areas.
“The parties conducted a thorough exchange of views on topical issues of regional interaction and bilateral cooperation, primarily in the trade, economic and counter -terrorism areas,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement by the results of a telephone conversation of ministers.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that “the grain deal has stopped.” “As soon as the Russian part is fulfilled, the Russian side will return immediately to the implementation of this transaction,” he said.

Signatures under the document were made by representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the UN and Turkey.
