The Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan met in Ankara with the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. This is stated in the message of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, published on the social network x.
In turn, diplomatic sources said that Fidan and Meredov discussed the possibility of deepening cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan, in particular, new agreements in the economy that will be signed.
Sources note that the purpose of Turkey is to bring the volume of trade with Turkmenistan to $ 5 billion. In particular, during the conversation, an exchange of views took place regarding how to achieve this goal.
Sources also said that the steps were discussed that must be taken to facilitate cargo transportation. In addition, an assessment of the possibility of cooperation on the transportation of Turkmen natural gas to Turkey and European markets was evaluated.
The meeting also discussed the last situation in gas and events in Ukraine, ”the sources noted.
