Foreign Minister of Turkey: EU should adhere to more sober position in relation to Ankara

The European Union should adhere to a more sober position against Ankara, said the Foreign Minister of Turkish Hakan Fidan during a telephone conversation with the European Commissioner for the Expanding and Politics of Village Oliver Varheli.

According to diplomatic sources, the results of the EU Council meeting were discussed on the general issues that passed December 12 and was devoted to the issues of expanding the Commonwealth, as well as the results of the EU summit organized on December 14-15.

Fidan said that the EU should adhere to a more fair, more sober position in relation to Ankara.

In a world where global problems are aggravated, the EU must be acted from a strategic point of view and improve relations with Turkey, the Turkish minister said.

In Ankara, it is expected that in the shortest possible time they will take specific steps on issues such as updating the Customs Union, expanding cooperation in the field of investment and ensuring the simplification of the visa regime with Turkey, added Hakan Fidan.
