Ukraine is discussing the placement of the international military contingent in the country, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrei Sibiga in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
He noted that the European side immediately supported the agreement between the American and Ukrainian delegations reached in Jidd, and he, as a minister, received a lot of messages and words of support, as well as readiness to help Ukraine in the implementation of these agreements. Sibiga also noted the support of President Vladimir Zelensky by the vast majority of European leaders.
“This is important because this agreement is supported by the world, our allies,” the minister said.
Returning to specific actions, Sibiga noted that Ukraine is at a dynamic geopolitical stage, when “Europe is aware of the need to take responsibility for its safety.” He noted that the latest statements and initiatives related to rearmament and greater self -sufficiency, primarily in the defense sphere, are a positive development.
“This happens before our eyes. We see all these last statements and initiatives about the need for rearmament, greater self -sufficiency, primarily in the defense sphere, and this is good,” he said.
Sibiga also added that Ukraine can play one of the key roles in building a common security architecture, since “Ukraine’s security and European safety are inseparable things.”
He said that a list of countries that are ready to place their troops as an important part of the future security guarantees system has already been determined. Specific details are discussed now, such as geography, quantity and mandate.
“On Saturday, a coalition summit with the participation of the President of Zelensky took place. The process constantly continues along the line of Andrei Yermak with national security advisers,” he added.
“these are no longer abstract ideas, these are things that are not at the stage of discussion, but of implementation,” the minister concluded.
