Ukraine is ready to support a long -term, strong and complete ceasefire, said the Foreign Minister Andrei Sibig in response to a truce proposed by Moscow.
“If Russia really wants peace, it must immediately cease to fire. Why wait until May 8? If the fire can be stopped now and from any date for 30 days, it means that it is real, and not just for the parade. Ukraine is ready to maintain long -term, strong and complete cessation. And this is that we constantly offer at least 30 days,” he wrote on social networks x.
The President of Russia declared a truce on the days of the 80th anniversary of Victory, according to the Kremlin telegram channel on Monday, April 28.
“by the decision of the Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, based on humanitarian reasons, during the days of the 80th anniversary of Victory – from zero hours from May 7 to 8 to May 10, the Russian side announces a truce. Russia believes that the Ukrainian side should follow this example. In case of violations of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian side, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will give an adequate and effective answer, follows from the text.
