Türkiye is for Kyrgyzstan a fraternal and closest country. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev at a joint press conference with the Turkish colleague Hakan Fidan in Bishkek.
He emphasized the significance of the fact that the Foreign Minister of Turkey made his first visit in the new year to Kyrgyzstan.
Kulubaev noted that the 6th meeting of the joint group of strategic planning between the delegations of the two countries will be preparing for the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kyrgyzstan.
The diplomat recalled that this year marks 32 years to establish diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkey.
“The Turkish Republic was the first to recognize the independence of Kyrgyzstan. For these 32 years we have come a long way,” the minister said.
Kulubaev noted that there are no political disagreements between the two countries.
He expressed the hope that the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister to Kyrgyzstan will contribute to the further development of the connections between Ankara and Bishkek, and “open a new page in bilateral relations.”
