Azerbaijan Republic monitors the events taking place in Syria. In this context, consultations with fraternal Turkey are held.
This was announced on December 10 by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The country’s statement says that after the fall of the Bashar Assad regime in Syria, it is extremely important to restore peace and stability in the country and put an end to a civil confrontation.
“The Republic of Azerbaijan once again expresses its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria and hopes that the problems will be resolved by the will of the Syrian people, as well as through domestic political dialogue,” the Foreign Ministry notes.
The official Baku claims that the Azerbaijan Republic, together with the Bratsk Republic of Turkey and other uniform partners, is ready to contribute to the solution of humanitarian problems facing the Syrian people.
According to the statement, despite the absence of the Azerbaijani embassy in Syria, work is underway to determine the number and location of Azerbaijan citizens in Syria. The Republic of Azerbaijan will also continue the repatriation of its citizens from the Syrian Arab Republic through the territory of Turkey.
