Azerbaijan continues to attach great importance to cooperation with his neighbor and partner Georgia.
This is stated in the publication of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry on the social network X (previously Twitter).
“We fully support the decision of the conflict in Georgia within the framework of international recognized boundaries on the basis of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states,” the publication says.
“The realization of the inalienable right of internally displaced persons to a safe and worthy return to their places of origin is crucial,” the Foreign Ministry is emphasized.
From the Russian-Georgian war passes 16 years.
Russia in August 2008 recognized the “independence” of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. This was one of the most difficult consequences of the war that changed the geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus.
The government in Tbilisi in response broke diplomatic relations with Moscow, and declared South Ossetia and Abkhazia “occupied territories.”
