The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan commented on the decision of the UN International Court of the UN to reject Yerevan’s claim for amendments to the court order of December 7, 2021 on temporary measures in a case aroused by Armenia against Azerbaijan, against the background of the September-clashes on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
As noted in the Foreign Ministry, this decision corresponds to the international and national obligations of Azerbaijan in relation to each detained Armenian in full accordance with the previous court decision, as well as humane and indistinguishable handling with the detainees.
“Along with this, as announced by the Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan on September 17 and October 2, 2022, a detailed investigation is being conducted in connection with videos that are extended anonymously on social networks, which states illegal actions of Azerbaijani troops, in addition , the guilty persons were guaranteed to be liable in connection with some of the videos that were extended in the previous period. Armenia, on the contrary, did not take any steps to hold the perpetrators liable for numerous war crimes and other illegal actions against Azerbaijani military and civilians and civilians still committed so far, including for installing even more than 1400 minutes in the territory of Azerbaijan, after signing a tripartite statement, as well as for missile strikes during a 44-day war on densely populated cities of Azerbaijan, such as Ganja.
both Azerbaijani and international observers, as well as a special speaker of the Council of Europe and a special representative of the EU in the South Caucasus repeatedly called for investigating the video recordings that indicate the commissioning of military crimes, and bring guilty to the commissioned of Armenian military networks. The international community must hold Armenia liable for these actions.
Azerbaijan is committed to the continued peaceful process and negotiations, as well as protecting the rights of all people within the framework of international law, ”the Foreign Ministry notes.
