Foreign Ministry Of Azerbaijan: OTG Activities Have Acquired More Active And Systematic Nature

The activities of the organization of the Turkic states (OTG) over the past 15 years have acquired a more active and systematic nature.

This is stated in the publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on the social network x.

The department reminded that today it marks the 15th anniversary of the founding of the OTG, created in accordance with the Nakhchivan agreement, and uniting the Turkic countries and peoples connected by the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and solidarity.

The Foreign Policy Department congratulated all members and observers of OTG in this regard, uniting the Turkic world.

“We wish you success in our joint work to further strengthen the organization of the Turkic states, whose activities have acquired more and more active and systematic in the last 15 years!” The publication says.

On October third, 2009, the Nakhchivansky agreement was signed on the establishment of the Council of Cooperation of the Turkic -speaking states in order to create a platform for cooperation between the entire Turkic world.

The Turkic Council was created on the initiative of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The goal of creating the Turkic Council was to deepen cooperation between the Turkic -speaking countries, the contribution to the regional world and stability. The cooperation of the Turkic -speaking countries is based on the general historical and cultural heritage, the community of the language.

The Turkic Council was officially renamed the organization of the Turkic states (OTG) at the VIII summit of the leaders of the Turkic Council, organized on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul.

In accordance with the agreement, countries should adhere to a single position in issues of foreign policy, coordinate actions to combat terrorism and crime, create a favorable environment for trade and investment, ensure comprehensive economic development, expand interaction in the areas of science, technology, education and Cultures.
