Ukraine’s accession to NATO excludes the achievement of peace in Ukraine and “in a broader sense, the creation of at least some kind of security architecture. This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Grushko.
“For us, this is one of the key elements of possible conflict agreements in Ukraine. This is an element associated with the elimination of the indigenous causes of this conflict. And we will achieve not only reinforced concrete guarantees of legal guarantees that would exclude in any form of Ukraine’s membership in NATO, But we will also insist that this becomes the policy of the Alliance itself, ”said the deputy minister, whose words are quoted by TASS.
Grushko also stated that the Russian Federation would not allow the Baltic Sea into the “internal lake” of the North Atlantic Alliance.
“The use of terms such as control is another evidence of dreams into NATO to turn the Baltic Sea into an internal lake, as they love to speak in public. But this will not happen for many reasons, and one of the main ones, of course, – – that the Russian Federation will not allow this, ”he said.
Grushko noted that Russia will do everything necessary so that its interests are reliably “protected and protected”.
“We want the Baltic Sea to remain a sea of cooperation, the sea of interaction, the sea through which trade is carried out,” Grushko said, NATO plans have no “no prospects,” he said.
