Foreign Ministry Of Russian Federation: Afghanistan’s Diplomatic Level In Moscow Will Be Increased To Ambassador

Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation Zamir Kabulov and the Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov on April 23 held working meetings with Foreign Ministers Amir Khan Mottaki and the internal affairs of Afghanistan Sirajuddin Hakkani.

Russia informed the Afghan leaders that in the development of the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on the suspension of the prohibition on the activities of the Taliban movement, the level of Afghanistan’s diplomatic mission in Moscow will be increased to the ambassador.

This is stated in the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Representatives of the Afghan leadership were informed that the decision to suspend the prohibition on the activities of the Taliban by the Russian side made a decision to increase the level of diplomatic representation of Afghanistan in Moscow to the ambassador to the development of the Supreme Court. Afghan leaders expressed deep appreciation for this step,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
