The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the report of the European Parliament for Turkey on September 13 for 2022.
”The report is based on misinformation distributed by anti -Turkish circles, and is full of unfair accusations and prejudices. It is also a reflection of the preserved superficial and short -sighted approach of the European Parliament both to relations with our country and the future EU,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The statement says that the report also demonstrates that members of the European Parliament remain captives of populist policy and are “far from developing the correct strategic approach to both the EU and the region.”
“In such a critical period of the stability and security of our continent, when a window of possibilities for reviving relations between Turkey and the EU has opened, we consider it unreasonable that the European Parliament takes such steps, instead of negotiations on our country’s membership in the European Union,” – It is said in the statement.
