The Foreign Ministry of Turkey commented on the appointment of Feridun Sinirlioglu as the Secretary General of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
“We are completely sure that Sinirlioglu will cope with its obligations in the most successful way and will support the OSCE in the effective fulfillment of its tasks,” the foreign policy said.

The Foreign Ministry recalled that the candidate from Turkey Sinirlioglu was appointed General Secretary of the OSCE at the 31st meeting of the Smid OSCE, held in Malta on December 5-6.
“The fact that the ambassador of Sinirlioglu was unanimously elected by 57 delegates from different regions representing different strategic interests is a reflection of international attention to the prestige of Turkey, its foreign policy and active diplomacy in the decision of global crises,” the department said. < /p>
Türkiye will continue to contribute to the establishment of stability and peace in the geography of the OSCE, where hot conflicts and ongoing disputes are preserved, added to the Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan also congratulated Sinirlioglu on the appointment. “The decision made with the approval of 57 participants from North America, Europe and Asia is one of the successful results of the actual role of Turkey in the international arena and its diplomatic approach, focused on cooperation,” the minister wrote in X, thanking the OSCE member countries for cooperation and support.
In this difficult period, when the world experiences deep crises and conflicts, the OSCE should play an important role in ensuring stability and safety, Fidan added.
