The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE caused a temporary attorney in Sweden in connection with the burning of the Koran sacred for Muslims in front of the Iraq embassy in Stockholm.
This was reported by the news agency WAM.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed the Swedish diplomat a note of protest, which condemns “ongoing acts of desecration of the Holy Koran in Sweden.”
The Foreign Ministry noted that the actions of the Swedish government violate the norms of international law, which does not allow insulting the subjects of religious veneration and sacred symbols.
The UAE does not accept practice that contradict the basic human values, incite hatred and national enmity, and also undermine international efforts aimed at spreading the principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence of peoples, noted in the Foreign Ministry.
