Official Baku supports the appeals of the international community about the peaceful decision of tension at the Armenian-Azerbaijani State Government and carrying out the delimitation and demarcation of the border, said the head of the press service of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leila Abdullayev.
“We have repeatedly stated that we support the settlement of border tension through negotiations, as well as support the appeals of the international community to demarcation and delimit the boundaries between the two countries. As you know, Azerbaijan also supported the proposal to create a tripartite commission on delimitation and demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, “- the Abdullava statement says.
At the same time, she noted that during demarcation and delimitation of the boundary, it is necessary to refer to the territorial integrity of both countries.
“Only on the basis of strict compliance with the international law of sovereignty, territorial integrity and irrevoyability of borders, you can normalize interstate relations, start the demarcation and delimitation of the border and, finally, lay a solid foundation for peaceful coexistence,” she stressed.
Commenting on the statement of the OSCE MG co-chairs, Abdullayeva recalled that Azerbaijan delayed 6 Armenian servicemen when they were committed by provocations aimed at mining of the supply paths of Azerbaijan.
“While anti-personnel mines established by Armenia on the liberated territories of Azerbaijan daily pose a threat to the life of people, Armenian refusal to provide information about the location of mines, as well as attempts to establish new mines in this territory not in any framework. The way, before, to offer the exchange of prisoners of war based on the principle of “all on all”, the co-chairs should at least pay attention to the reasons for the detention of these Armenian military and call provocateurs to refrain from such activities, “Abdullayev emphasized.
In addition, Abdullaeva noted that the OSCE MG co-chairs can make a role in ensuring the creation of peace in the region. “The co-chairs, in turn, can contribute to the world and development in the region, supporting the implementation of tripartite statements,” the head of the press service emphasized.
