The position of Ankara on the issue of non -recognition of the illegal annexation of the Crimea Peninsula and the support of the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine remains unchanged. This is stated in the statement of the foreign policy of Turkey, published on Saturday due to the tenth anniversary of the annexation of the Crimea Peninsula.
The Turkish department recalled that 10 years have passed since the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the Russian Federation on an illegitimate referendum held on March 16, 2014.
“We will continue to carefully monitor the development of events in the Crimea, and mainly the position of the Crimean Tatar Turks, one of the most important component of the peninsula, as well as preserve this in our priority agenda,” the Foreign Ministry said in a message
“We again confirm that we do not recognize this actual situation, which is a violation of international law, as well as our support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” the department added.
