Former CIA director: Foreign contingent may come to Ukraine

If Russia performs any really dangerous actions in Ukraine, a multinational military contingent under the command of the United States can intervene in the conflict. This was stated by the ex-director of the CIA and the former commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan David Petreus in an interview with L’Express.

“The red line for NATO is directly related to the obligation of collective self -defense of Article 5, that is, an attack on the NATO member country … the United States and other countries could respond in one way or another (in the case of Ukraine – ed.), but as The multinational force led by the United States, and not as the power of NATO, ”he said.

Earlier, on October 22, the Air-Helpers “Screaming Eagles” of the US Army was located in Europe and said that he was ready to cross the border of Ukraine in case of escalation of the conflict.
