Former Malaysian Prime Minister Is Hospitalized Due To Lung Infection

former Prime Minister Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad is hospitalized due to relapse of pulmonary infection.

According to local media, the 99-year-old politician was placed in the National Cardiological Center in Kuala Lumpur. Mahathiru Mohamad was issued a medical certificate until October 25.

The ex-head of the Malaysian Cabinet of Ministers on October 14-15 participated in the trial of slander as a witness.

Politician lawyer Mior Nor Khaidir informed the courts on the state of health of the client, but the court hearing was postponed to October 29.

Mahathir Mohamad previously underwent surgery on coronary noise. The last time the politician was treated at the National Cardiology Institute in July.

Mohamad served as a prime minister in a total of 24 years-in 1981-2003 and 2018-2020. In 2020, he was recognized as the “oldest prime minister in the world.”
