In the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana started the Forum on Security and Cooperation in Asia on the topic “Asia in a changing world: Agendal of the Future”, Kazinform reports.
More than 60 specialists from Asian countries take part in the forum.
The event is carried out jointly by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, who spoke during the event, said that Kazakhstan was seeking to turn Central Asia into a transport and logistics node.
“It is known that our world has never been calm. The problems we are faced now can be a certain extent dangerous. Given this, Kazakhstan continues the centuries -old, constructive policy. We also firmly adhere to the values and principles enshrined in the charter The United Nations and International Law Organization is known that Asia plays a decisive role in the economic and political plan. As the Minister noted, Kazakhstan pays special attention to the development of existing corridors and the discovery of new routes in order to increase the volume of goods passing through the countries of Central Asia.
“Kazakhstan seeks to turn Central Asia into a transport and logistics node. We support and continue to develop a transcontinental transport corridor in the North-South and East-West directions, including the Trans-Caspian Transport Route,” concluded the Minister
