France Condemned Explosion From Consulate General Of Russian Federation In Marseille

France condemned the attack, as a result of which explosives were thrown into the garden of the Russian Consulate General in Marseille.

France condemns any encroachments on the safety of diplomatic missions, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It is emphasized that the safety of these representative offices is guaranteed by the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations, which France undertakes to fulfill in full.

The statement also notes that the protection of consular premises and personnel is one of the fundamental principles of international law.

On the morning of February 24, an explosion thundered near the Russian Consulate General in Marseille. The incident occurred as a result of the detonation of explosives thrown into the garden of the building.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the General Consulate in Marseille has signs of a “terrorist act”, and demanded that France quickly take measures to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
