France: Court Will Be Held On Fact Of An Explosion Near Russian Consulate General In Marseille

In France, the case of two people who admitted the organization of an attack using explosives to the Russian Consulate General in Marseille was transferred to the court.

The reports of the national media say that people who have admitted the attack tomorrow will appear before the judge on charges of “damaging someone else’s property using vehicles that pose a danger to people” and “manufacturing explosive and incendiary devices without permission”.

In France on February 24, explosives were thrown into the garden of the Consulate General of Russia in Marseille, no one was injured as a result of the explosion.

The attackers were installed and detained on the same day during a demonstration in support of Ukraine.

They were employees of the National Center for Scientific Research of France (CNRS), engineer and chemist.

During the detention, they stated that they committed a terrorist attack in support of Ukraine.

The prosecutor’s office of Marseille said that both suspects referred to the Russian-Ukrainian war as an excuse for their actions.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the incident has signs of a “terrorist act”, and demanded a comprehensive investigation from France.

The Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement condemned this attack.
