87-year-old woman is hospitalized in France after the vulture attacked her in the garden.
According to The Connexion news site, the vulture attacked an elderly woman when she was in her garden in the city of Verriere in the province of Aveyron in the south of the country.
The attack, which lasted several minutes, led to serious injuries of the hands and wrists of an elderly woman.
The wounds in the tendons of a hospitalized woman can lead to the loss of two fingers.
Mayor Verier Jerome Murier said that the costs of hospitalization of an elderly woman were not covered with medical insurance, so the city took over the costs of treatment.
MURIA said that she reported to the Association of Poultry of France (LPO), but the leaders of the association said that “without photographs they could not believe that the vulture attacked a person in France or Europe.”
Having stated that the attack on an elderly woman was recorded by cameras, Muri demanded to take the vultures under control.
According to LPO, in Avyeron there are 850 pairs of vultures suitable for reproduction, and every year 500 chicks of these birds are born.
