FSB Of Russian Federation Announced Prevention Of Terrorist Attack On Orthodox Church

The FSB of the Russian Federation reported on the prevention of a terrorist attack on the Orthodox Church in the city of Maykop in the Republic of Adygea.

The Russian department noted that the attack was preparing a native of one of the countries of the Central Asian region.

“The terrorist prepared an attack on the cult institution (Orthodox temple) of the city of Maykop and the murder of its clergymen and guards with further arson of the building, conducted an area of ​​the terrain, drew up an attack scheme, acquired the necessary components and manufactured homemade incendiary devices. He planned to conduct a video of the action for the subsequent posting on the Internet in order to promote the ideas of MTO against the backdrop of a committed resonant crime, ”the report said.

After the attack, the militant hoped to hide abroad.

Earlier, on June 23, armed people fired in Makhachkala and Derbent. In particular, there was an attack on two Orthodox churches, two synagogues and the post of traffic police.

The priest was killed in Derbent, during the shelling of the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Makhachkala, the guardian of the church died. As a result of an armed attack in Makhachkala and Derbent, 22 people were killed, including 17 police officers.
