“The Strategy of the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan at 2022-2026 will give a new breath to restore the tourism sector after the pandemic.” This was stated by the chairman of the State Agency for Tourism Fuad Nagiyev, speaking at the conference “Azerbaijani tourism in the post -Pandemic period.”
The head of the agency noted that the implementation of the strategy will contribute to the creation of new tourist and recreational zones in Azerbaijan, the elimination of seasonality in domestic and inhuman tourism, and sustainable development of the tourist sector.
Foid Nagiyev said that one of the main activities of the State Agency in the post-Pandemic period will be an improvement in the business environment in the field of tourism, the improvement and diversification of transport and communication relations with targeted tourist markets.
Noting the effective activities of representatives of the tourism industry over the past period and participation in the work carried out in the direction of tourism development, Fuad Nagiyev called on travel agencies to active actions to turn Azerbaijan into preferred tourist destinations for foreign guests.
As part of the event, a presentation of the interactive panel posted on the official website of the State Agency for Tracking the Statistics of Foreigners in the country posted on the official website. The head of the statistics and research sector of the tourism policy and the strategy of the State Agency of the Nijat Abbasus presented the meeting participants about the number of foreign citizens who visited Azerbaijan, the situation this year, the comparison of data with the performance of last year and the period before the pandemic, informed in detail about the frequency and accessibility of information.
At the same time, representatives of the tourism industry were acquainted with the results of the research project “Analysis of the satisfaction and loyalty of tourists”. It was noted that studies are conducted on the basis of studying the opinions of tourists from the countries of the Middle East, North-Eastern Asia, South Asia and America.
In the second part of the event, the 2nd General Assembly of the Association of Travel Agencies of Azerbaijan was held. Within the framework of the Assembly, Hoheniz Gahramanov was elected new chairman of the board of the Association.
