Fuel reserves in Sri Lanka actually ended, the existing amount is not enough for one day, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports with reference to the Ceylon oil corporation.
According to her data, now only 1.1 thousand tons of gasoline and 7.5 thousand tons of diesel fuel are left in the repositories of the country. “Last week, not a single ship with fuel was sent to Sri Lanka, since Colombo did not make the necessary payments for the load and did not provide international bank guarantees, and even to date has not made any payments for the last supplies of gasoline and other fuel”, – reported sources in the corporation.
At the same time, Sri Lanka was blacklisted with international companies, since it has not fulfilled obligations for its debts, and now companies require international bank guarantees for new orders, sources added. Also, due to the lack of new supplies of fuel in Sri Lanka this week, public transport can stop working, additional disconnects of electricity supply may also begin, the newspaper writes.
