The speakers of the parliaments of the countries of the group twenty (G20) called for the resumption of the Black Sea Grain transaction by fulfilling all its conditions, including unhindered exports of food and fertilizer from Russia. This is stated in a joint statement following the results of the ninth parliamentary Summit G20, TASS reports.
“We call for the complete, timely and efficient implementation of the Memorandum of understanding between the Russian Federation and the UN Secretariat on the promotion of Russian food and fertilizers to world markets and initiatives for safe transportation of grain and food from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea to ensure to ensure Immediately and unhindered imports of grain, food, fertilizers and their components from Russia and Ukraine. This is necessary to satisfy demand in developing and least developed countries, primarily in Africa, ”the document says.
In this context, the participants of the summit called for the cessation of any “attacks on the objects of food or energy infrastructure”.
The document also emphasizes that on the impact of the conflict in Ukraine on world food and energy security and stability of the supply chains “various opinions were expressed”.
