The Foreign Minister of the Big Seven countries (G7) called for the immediate cessation of hostilities and establish a ceasefire in Sudan, where the conflict has been going on for the third year.
The US State Department has published a joint statement by the heads of the Foreign Ministry of the G7 and the Supreme EU, dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of the conflict in Sudan.
The statement is condemned by the ongoing military operations and violations of human rights in Sudan, special attention is paid to the humanitarian catastrophe, as well as the difficulties that women and children face.
In addition, concern is expressed in connection with the “intentional use of hunger as a method of warfare.”
It is noted that such actions are prohibited by international law.
The heads of departments called for the unconditional cessation of fire, the parties compliance with international law and ensuring unhindered access of the humans across the borders of Sudan.
The statement emphasizes the importance of sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Sudan.
G7 countries expressed their readiness to continue diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.

Since April 15, 2023, clashes between the country’s army and the quick response forces (RSF).
According to the UN, this conflict has become the largest in the world in the number of internally displaced persons and led to a large -scale destruction of infrastructure.
