The countries of the Big Seven (G7) promised to allocate $ 19.8 billion to strengthen the Ukrainian financial system while Kyiv fights the Russian invasion, according to the Communist, published at the end of the meeting of the Ministers of the G7 Countries, which took place on Friday, 20 May, reports the Russian Service “Voice of America”.
“In 2022, we will transfer $ 19.8 billion to support the budget, including $ 9.5 billion of recent obligations … To help Ukraine close the budget deficit and continue to provide basic services to the Ukrainian people,” the Ukrainian people said Communik.
“In addition, we welcome the permanent work of the G7 and international financial institutions for further financing of Ukraine, in particular, the proposal of the European Commission on the provision of additional macrofinance assistance in the amount of 9 billion euros.”
“We will continue to defend the interests of Ukraine throughout this war and after its completion, and are ready to do more as necessary,” said the Ministers of Finance and the Governing Central Banks of the United States, Japan, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy that make up the “large seven”.

The meeting participants also discussed the possibility of imposing new sanctions against Russia in order to force Moscow to end the war fought in Ukraine.
