Georgia is ready to become a center for dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia for the sake of peace in the region, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Russian media reported.
“We are ready to become the center for the dialogue of Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to affirm the necessary world and stability in our region. It is with this intention that Georgia contributes to the peaceful initiative of the neighborhood, which implies the participation of all three states of the Southern Caucasus,” he said.
According to him, the peace initiative of the neighborhood is not aimed at replacing existing formats. He noted that “Georgia hopes to become a bona fide mediator who will help normalize regional security.”
