Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, the press service of the Georgian government reports.
The meeting took place in the city of Chechuan Candu, where the head of the government is at the invitation of the Chairman of the PRC to participate in the opening ceremony of “World Summer Student Games”.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked China and its leader for the invitation to the opening ceremony of the summer “World Student Games”.
The parties agreed on the further deepening of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and China.
Garibashvili noted that Georgia appreciates many years of friendship and cooperation with the PRC. The Prime Minister thanked Xi Jinping for the Global Initiative “One Belt, One Way”.
Xi Jinping, in turn, noted that Georgia and China are strengthening strategic partnership, which will bring bilateral relations to a new level.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister took part in a reception arranged on behalf of Xi Jinping.
