The Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan General-Colonel Zakir Hasanov received a new commander of Russian peacekeeping forces in Karabakh Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkina.
In the meeting, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov took part in the meeting.
Recall that just a few weeks ago, R. Muradov introduced Baku and Yerevan of the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh, General Mikhail Kozavokova. Barely arrived in the Karabakh M. Kostokov unexpectedly received a new appointment and departed from Azerbaijan.
G.Anashkin 52 years. Since July 2017, he served as Deputy Commander of the 8th Guards Communarily Army of the Southern Military District.
From December 1999 to August 2000, Anashkin commanded a parachuting battalion as part of peacekeeping forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consolidated divisions were on business trips in Chechnya during the first and second Chechen wars.
Since June 2007, he commanded the 104th Guards Assault Regula (76th Guards Assault Assault Division, Pskov). In August 2008, the battalion-tactical group under the command of Anashna participated in the battles for Tskhinvali. In the same year, Anashkin was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
