CEO of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossy and the head of the Russian Rosatom Alexei Likhachev held negotiations in Istanbul. They discussed the creation of a safe zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, the Russian media and the Press Service of the IAEA write.
Negotiations were held “for consultations on operations related to the safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in Ukraine, and on the urgent establishment of the nuclear security and protection zone,” the international organization reports. Other details of negotiations are not disclosed. The Russian side has not yet commented on the meeting.
Earlier, November 23, Deputy Head of the Agency, Head of the Magate Nuclear Energy Department Mikhail Chudakov said that there is a promotion on the situation around the ZAES.
“There are conversations on this subject, the leaders of other European countries are involved, who should affect the result,” he said.
