General Alexey Avdeev will replace General Rustam Muradov in Karabakh

The new commander of the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant-General Alex Avdeev will start duties until the end of the month, report Armenian media with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

Alex Avdeev will arrive in the region in the near future and will begin to fulfill duties by the end of the month.

General Avdeev was born in 1967 in Tashkent. Graduated from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov Military School. He served on various command posts in the North Caucasus Military District. Then in 1999 he graduated from the Universal Academy of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In 2008 he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

He held the post of commander of the motorized rifle division (Siberian Military District), head of the organizational and mobilization department – Deputy Headquarters of the Siberian Military District for Organizational and Mobilization Work (Novosibirsk), Deputy Commander of the 41st Commissar Army (Novosibirsk, Central Military District) , Headquarters headquarters – First Deputy Commander of the 6th Communist Party Red Banner Army (St. Petersburg, Western Military District) and others.
