Italian Prime Minister George Melony at a meeting in London with British Prime Minister Kirmarmer, said: “I believe that it is very important to prevent the risk of schism of the West. If we separate, it will make us weaker.”
British Prime Minister Starmer and his Italian colleague Meloni made statements for the press before meeting face to face in London.
noting that the leaders gathered together at a very important point, Starmer said that during a meeting in Rome last year they discussed issues of economics, immigration, defense and security.
Starkmer emphasized that they approached the general issues regarding the two countries with the same mood.
– Britain and Italy can play a unifying role
Meloni in turn stated that the world is experiencing a special period: “During this period, it is very important to coordinate actions. I thank you for conducting this summit in Ukraine.”
She expressed determination to achieve the goal of a durable world in Ukraine.
“I think, it is very important that we prevent the risk of the split of the West. At this stage, the UK and Italy can play a unifying role. I also offered to conduct a summit between the leaders of the USA and Europe. If we separate, it will make us weaker,” she said.
“We both think non -standard and admit that we need new tools and ideas for solving problems that affect our citizens. Great Britain and Italy are compatible in bilateral relations.”
The bilateral meeting was held as part of the Ukraine summit, in which leaders and representatives of the ministerial level from many European countries take part.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky takes part in the summit. Politicians hope that the summit will enhance efforts to achieve a fair and strong world in Ukraine.
British Prime Minister Starkmer said that they, together with France and, possibly, 1-2 countries are working on a plan to establish peace in Ukraine, which is very relevant after the debate in the White House and that this plan will be presented later by the United States.
