A significant date has been officially celebrated in the country since 2012.
Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili congratulated citizens on the Day of the State Flag. “Congratulations to every citizen of our country on the Day of the State Flag of Georgia! The national flag of Georgia with five crosses is the main national symbol of our freedom, independence, unity and perseverance,” the politician wrote on social networks.
The current state flag of Georgia was approved by parliament on January 14, 2004.
