Maple Arch – 2021 Multinational Command-Staff, with the participation of military from Canada, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine started in Georgia. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, reports TASS.
According to information, this year, Georgia for the first time adopts command-staff teachings of Maple Arch – 2021, whose organizer is the Directorate of Military Teachings of the Ministry of Defense of Canada, and from the Georgian side they direct the Eastern Command of Defense Forces. In the exercises, military personnel from Georgia, Canada, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine take part.
It is noted that the purpose of maneuvers is to increase the compatibility of the armed forces of the participating countries, deepening relations in the field of defense, an even greater approach to NATO standards in the process of planning and implementing peacekeeping operations, the development of effective decision-making skills, added to the Georgian defense department.
Two-week exercises will be held on the territory of the Joint Center for Training and Estimates Georgia – NATO (JTEC). Together with Canadian instructors, colleagues from Georgia participate in them. Maple Arch is held annually in different countries. Georgia in them participates since 2018.
