Georgia should have started the process of vaccination against coronavirus with the Chinese vaccine. This is the opinion of Paata Imnadze, deputy head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia.
Imnadze was asked what mistake the Georgian epidemiologists made during the pandemic during the broadcast of the Formula TV company. “I can say right now that we did not fully insist on starting vaccination with the Chinese vaccine,” said Imnadze, quoted by Sputnik Armenia.
He noted that two months ago, when Georgian epidemiologists announced their readiness to import the Chinese vaccine, there was a stir in the country. When asked by a journalist if the experts were sure of the Chinese vaccine, why it was not delivered, Imnadze replied: “It will also be delivered.”
The issue of the quality of Chinese vaccines “Sinovac” and “Sinopharma” was discussed in Georgia in January. Then the Minister of Health Yekaterina Tikaradze ruled out the possibility of importing the Chinese vaccine to Georgia due to the lack of sufficient information about it.
