In Georgia, protests are continuing against the suspension of the beginning of negotiations on the country’s entry into the European Union. Protest shares that began after the parliamentary elections on October 26, are already held on the 28th day.
In the capital of Tbilisi, demonstrators arranged processions all day on different streets, and in the evening again gathered at the parliament building on Shota Rustaveli Avenue, blocked the movement of transport. The protesters held the flags of Georgia and the European Union, demanding from the government to hold repeated parliamentary elections.
Protesters are supported by volunteers who provide them with hot drinks and food.
the European Union, the USA, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and the opposition does not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections and condemn the decision of the ruling party “Georgian Dream” to postpone the beginning of negotiations on the EU until 2028.
In turn, Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze and the government accuse the opposition, Zurabishvili and the forces supported by the West of trying to overthrow power through “street actions.”
A number of European countries and the United States have already imposed sanctions against Georgian officials.
