Georgian Parliament overcame president’s veto for amendments to constituency

Georgian parliament overcame the Veto President of the country Salome Zurabishvili for amendments to the constituency.

Changes provide for simplifying the procedure for the Central Election Commission of decisions.

for the adoption of amendments in the initial version, 78 deputies voted. None of the parliamentarians opposed.

Amendments provide for the creation of an “anti -trend mechanism” in case the CEC meeting is not able to make a decision requiring voting at least two -thirds of the full composition of the Central Election Commission.
