Georgian police massively detained “thieves in law”

Eight people were detained in Tbilisi, Chiatura and Sachhera for communications with the “thieves’ world”, today the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

According to the investigation, all eight detainees actively participated in various criminal activities. Based on citizens ‘appeals, they were associated with the Georgian “thieves in law” abroad in order to resolve financial disputes or any other conflict situations on “thieves’ concepts”. Such “showdowns” brought them financial benefits – criminal authorities took money from the side of the dispute that thieves in law obliged to pay.

It was established that the accused got in touch with at least five well -known thieves in the law: the Tengiz Khoperia nicknamed “Chinka”, David Kurasbediani (“Chuta”), Roman Barbakadze (“Remena”), Merab Cheishvili (“Zhorzhikich”) and Jayran Kintsurashvili.
